Optimum appearance Polysafe Mosaic PUR decorative safety vinyl flooring featuring Polyflor’s market-leading polyurethane reinforcement (Polysafe™ PUR) has been installed at the refurbished cafeteria at the Chaucer Centre in Merton, London.

A converted old school building, the Chaucer Centre has 13 meeting rooms for a variety of uses ranging from interviews, presentations and board meetings to larger seminars.

Installed by Dappa MRP Flooring of Surrey, Polysafe Mosaic features Polysafe™ PUR, a cross-linked, UV cured super strength polyurethane reinforcement, making it even easier to clean while providing optimum appearance, excellent colour retention and improved soil release. This PUR reinforcement is the same as used on Polyflor’s leading homogeneous ranges but is specially engineered to be applied to vinyl safety flooring to provide landmark cleaning benefits.

The incorporation of Polysafe™ PUR also means that life cycle maintenance costs of up to 60% are achievable over a 15 year period when compared to untreated safety flooring using a micro mop maintenance regime (British Institute of Cleaning Science). Using this micro mop regime on Polysafe Mosaic PUR also reduces chemical usage, energy intensive cleaning and water consumption.

With ten attractive shades Polysafe Mosaic PUR is ideal for use in design orientated commercial areas, which need to maintain an attractive appearance while offering slip-resistance properties for underfoot safety. Enhanced cleanability also makes it perfect for the more traditional, back of house commercial and social housing areas, where safety flooring is usually installed and where there is a high risk of spillages.

As with all Polysafe products, Polysafe Mosaic PUR complies fully with HSE and UK Slip Group Guidelines to give sustainable slip-resistance throughout its guaranteed life, achieving 36+ on the Pendulum wet test (Slider 96/Four S rubber) with a surface roughness of 20 microns and above. The range also adheres to EN 13845 – the European standard for safety flooring.

Polysafe Mosaic PUR has been awarded the highest possible BRE Global Environmental A+ Rating in major use areas such as education and healthcare (Certificate No: ENP 336). The product rating is based on the whole life environmental impact of the flooring over a building life of 60 years, thereby contributing to a healthy BREEAM score. Polysafe Mosaic PUR is 100% recyclable and can be recycled through Recofloor, a Vinyl Take-Back Scheme of which Polyflor is one of two founder members.
