Caice recently took part in head to head testing of their FCU with 3 other leading FCU brands. The tests took place in order to satisfy a specific client of the manufacturers ability to provide reliable information before inclusion on their supply chain for a number of upcoming projects.
The testing took place at BRE’s acoustic laboratory and were witnessed and overseen by one of the UK’s top Acoustic Consultants. Each manufacturer was requested to select two FCU’s to provide specific cooling duties for two given scenarios, whilst operating at a suitable noise level for the project.
Published airflow rates and sound power levels (LW) were submitted by each manufacturer and then each selected FCU was then tested in the same laboratory, under the same conditions back to back. The Caice units fully met or bettered our claimed Lw data, giving the client and the Acoustic Consultant comfort in our published data modelling and resulting in Caice earning a place on the approved supplier list.
Caice’s unique position in the FCU market is their in depth knowledge of acoustics, built on over 20 years of trading as a leading attenuator supplier in the UK. You can also read how BIM level 2 has transformed fan coil unit design at Caice .
