Concrete Show Preview

John Newton & Company are thrilled to be exhibiting at the Concrete Show again this year, where we will be profiling our range of unique products, exclusive to John Newton & Company.

Newton Concrete Waterproofing Systems include:
• conventional swelling waterbars
• injection hose waterbars
• physical movement joint waterbars
• physical construction joint waterbars
• construction joint treatments.

Do come and visit us on Stand D41, we hope to see you there

Highlights

Newton 403 HydroBond: Externally Applied Waterproofing Membrane
Newton 403 HydroBond is a very high performance composite sheet membrane that features a locking fleece to one side and a polymer hydrophilic coating to the other.

When placed below the new raft or against permanent shuttering, the Newton 403 HydroBond fibres are encapsulated into the wet concrete becoming monolithic to the surface. The fully engaged membrane prevents water tracking to the joints in the structure, should there be a defect.

The hydrophilic coating expands by approximately 150% when in contact with water and seals small holes that may be accidentally formed during fixing of the reinforcing steel or the pouring and compaction of the concrete.

“Newton HydroBond and FlexProof were installed in sub-zero temperatures in a demanding location – they were easy to install and kept the project on track” – Nigel Cleeve, Acrabuild (Project: Windfarm Substation)

Newton FlexProof-X1: Highly Advanced Single Component Waterproofing Membrane
Newton FlexProof-X1 is a highly advanced single component liquid waterproofing material, which forms an elastomeric polymer membrane that is rainproof in minutes and capable of handling severe building movements and deformations.

FlexProof-X1 is quite unique with amazing characteristics allowing it to be used
• without a primer
• without mixing and
• in weather conditions that preclude the use of alternatives.

FlexProof-X1 is a multi-use product and can be applied by trowel or squeegee to a variety of different surfaces such as concrete, screed and timber boards to provide a continuous highly flexible membrane that is resistant to water pressures of up to 2 bar (20m) over construction joints of up to 0.25mm.

“Newton FlexProof-NV is a versatile, easy to use and effective membrane for use in our industry” – Ashley Thrale, Structural Membranes

Newton 301 AquaProof: Coated Metal Waterbar System
Newton 301 AquaProof is a coated metal waterbar system used for the sealing of construction joints within retained concrete structures.

Newton 301 AquaProof features an adhesive, reactive polymer coating on one of its sides. The coating creates a permanent watertight seal with the surrounding concrete to create a water bar that works immediately.

Installation is quick and easy with the water bar fitted in place to the reinforcement steel with special clips so that after the placement of the concrete, the water bar is fully embedded within the two adjoining elements, completely blocking the passage of water through the joint. Because Newton 301

AquaProof is not fixed to one of the concrete elements as is the case with conventional water bars, the forming of a kicker upstand is not necessary. Newton 301 AquaProof metal waterbar is certified to resist water pressure of up to 7 bar (70m), and is resistant to all types of naturally occurring ground water types.

Newton 304 PolyProof Inject: Maintainable Swelling Injection Water Bar System
Newton 304 PolyProof Inject combines the grouting and resin injection capabilities of Newton 302 InjectionHose with the swelling capabilities of Newton 303 PolyProof. The resulting hybrid provides a very high performance water bar system used for the sealing of construction joints within retained concrete structures.

The system offers many benefits over conventional water bars, especially that in addition swelling when in contact with water, it also has the ability to grout poorly compacted concrete and seal leaking construction joints, post construction. The hydrophilic thermo-plastic elastomer outer casing will seal the joint against leaks by swelling to up to 400 times its original size when in contact with water, sealing the joint fully and reliably.
