Hethersett Academy has recently undergone an £8 million improvement scheme involving the construction of a new teaching block providing further classrooms, art rooms, a digital media suite and new sports provision for the academy.

Dunhams Washroom Systems supplied the new teaching block with outstanding washroom facilities to help maintain the schools already high standards. For the open plan washroom facilities, ultimate privacy and security was a main requirement, alongside providing an attractive solution which blended in with the block college style professionalism.

Full Height Cubicles from their Altitude SGL range completed with an extra privacy channel to provide minimal floor clearance gave the solution for washroom privacy. These were complimented with floor to ceiling IPS Wall Panels with a hinged key lock access panel for easy access when maintenance is required to the concealed pipework.

Each washroom area has two central handwash unit sets of Solid Surface Wash troughs paired with SGL Vanity Panels. These ensure the washroom users can move quickly and efficiently through the handwash areas which is ideal for school washrooms that experience high traffic at peak time such as breaks and lunch.

Coordinating Shades of Smokey Wenge & Sandy Wenge were chosen for the boys and girls washroom areas. These contrasting neutral shades also ensured the washrooms provided visual contrast to keep aligned with building regulations. Duct Panelling in the Accessible WC’s were kitted out with Grey Stipple and Pebble to maintain the professional finish and ensure these areas were also easy to clean and maintain alongside the main washrooms.
