Taplanes® has provided their Linfield en suite pod for a student accommodation project at Durham University. The University had their student accommodation at the beautiful Durham Castle modernised to a more luxurious standard.

The building provides an exceptional living space for students and is used outside of term-time to host weddings, conferences and guided tours- making a high specification was essential. As a World Heritage Site the renovation was complex as safe guarding the buildings integrity and original features was imperative.To this end the Taplanes® Linfield en suite pod was selected for the job.

The unit is manufactured in sections with each being easily manoeuvred on site through existing access and doorways. The shower is then constructed using our patented joint design which requires no silicone sealant to produce a water-tight pod.

This solution is the best available to mitigate the complexity of installation and risk of water damage to the castles interior and original features, a solution that surpassed the demands of client. Completed with high-end fitments this en suite accommodation continues to impress.
