AGC Glass Europe have launched Clearsight, a special anti-reflective coating helps to minimise glare while reducing reflection to less than 1%. Significantly lower than conventional glazing, this makes product is ideal for retail windows.
Conventional glass used in shop windows typically has a light reflection of 8%, resulting in a mirror-like effect that shoppers may find distracting as it detracts from the items on display.
Objects displayed behind the glass are harder to see and specialist lighting systems may have to be deployed to counter this effect.
AGC’s Clearsight glazing has a coating which can be applied to one or both surfaces of the glass, reducing light reflection on the glass surface to less than 1%, just 0.8%.
This renders the pane of glass almost invisible when looking straight at the glass (0° angle) , making it the ideal choice for retail glazing.
Clearsight also ensures the best possible colour rendering index, meaning that colours seen through the glass are the exact real colours of the objects behind it.
Clearsight can be specified as toughened safety glass or laminated safety glass for enhance safety and security depending on the needs of the project installation.
