Flexible FenceSafe Eclipse keeps £350m project secure and safe

CLD’s FenceSafe Eclipse has been chosen to keep Metrolink’s £350m project safe and secure.

The project, which started in 2017, will expand the tramlines around Manchester which in 2017/18 saw 41.2 million passenger journeys.

CLD supported ACS member, FareFence (NW) to help keep the site safe and secure for staff and the public with construction site fencing.

Due to the work on the new tracks cutting through existing properties of companies, roads and public areas such as CHEP Pallets and Hovis Bread, they needed to provide the safety and security of a permanent fenceline but one that could be easily adaptable as the project evolves.

FenceSafe Eclipse can be quickly assembled and dismantled, meaning it can be moved to different sites and spaces when required throughout the project.

The system hosts anti-trip protection which keeps staff and members of the public safe when passing by.

It’s also wind rated to BS EN 1991; in excess of 100mph meaning the system won’t blow down during strong winds into the busy tramline tracks or block busy city roads.
