A package of sustainable measures have put Flowcrete UKs time-proven floor screeds at the heart of green construction techniques.
Investment in research and development has enabled Flowcrete UK to introduce a range of sustainable features to its Isocrete Green Screeds range, without any compromise on the performance of the products, which have been used on commercial developments around the world for decades.
A major development has been the removal of Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) from the products.
Isocrete Green Screeds also contain up to 40 per cent recycled materials most of which have been reclaimed from heavy industry and would otherwise be sent to landfill.
Improved flexural and compressive strength also ensure Isocrete Green Screeds can remain in-situ for the lifetime of a building, minimising the cost and impact of repairs.
The green screeds play a key role in Flowcretes GREEN Floorzone, which is considered one of the most sustainable and complete flooring solutions available from a single manufacturer.
Ideal for new build and refurbishment projects, this single-source, single-warranty floor build-up programme features a number of sustainable flooring options along with the self-levelling screed, including choices in resin floor finish, as well as an energy-saving underfloor heating system and noise reducing acoustic layer.
An optional element of The GREEN Floorzone involves the Isowarm underfloor heating system, which offers energy efficient savings of up to 30 per cent compared to conventional heating systems.
Another optional feature, which represents the first stage of the floorzone build-up, is Isocrete Acoustic Foam, which reduces sound transfer and noise pollution between floors of benefit for multi-level occupancy buildings.

Ian Jones, marketing manager of Flowcrete UK, said: Isocrete Green Screeds are a fundamental component of The GREEN Floorzone, which enables specifiers to seamlessly meet the most stringent green construction ratings, such as BREEAM.
The single source nature of The GREEN Floorzone also offers further sustainability benefits, with all products arriving on site from one source, with no wastage, and just one contractor responsible for the entire installation all covered by one Flowcrete warranty.
Under the GREEN Floorzone system, specifiers can be assured of a stunning seamless resin floor finish to complete the floor build-up. Combining sustainability with style, choices include Mondéco Mirrazzo, which is made of 60 per cent recycled material, as well as Mondéco Crystal Ice, which has a significant amount of recycled mirror glass to reduce the need for additional lighting.
