ForceDry defy the weather and produce fantastic screed drying results on site

ForceDry were on site this week to support a project of 245 luxury apartments in central London get ahead by force drying their screed.

“It’s great to see progress in action” says Head Technician, Owen Todd. “this project has been a fantastic example of just how quickly we can defy the weather and conditions on site to produce results. Our kit has been installed 7 days after the screed was poured and just 3 weeks later we’re pleased to report fully dry, commissioned and conditioned ready for the floor finish.”

Force drying is a process being adopted by the construction market more and more as a method of controlling screed drying times, gaining, and even making up lost time on a project.

Many leading manufacturers recommend force drying especially during the colder, damper months when natural drying is impeded by the weather and conditions on site.

“The last week has delivered temperatures in the minuses and we’re many months away from the kinds of conditions screed needs to have any chance of drying naturally. We took these pictures earlier this week midway through a programme which are a great way to show force drying in action.” added Owen.

ForceDry offer a range of equipment to help projects of any size force dry screed and provide safe and reliable temporary background heat.

Owen continued: “For projects without underfloor heating we’ve also just launched brand new Electric Space Heaters onto the market which will help create reliable and consistent background heat. They're ideal to create good environments for other wet trades and materials to dry in as well as protecting sites against damp and freezing conditions”
