A central London project fell behind schedule due to wet screed causing delays. Despite having completed a drying programme the screed was not at target and the situation needed attention. With targets of 65% RH and readings showing in excess 80% RH the impact had created a domino affect which was complex and carried real financial impact for the contractor.
After approaching the screed manufacturer Gyvlon for advice, Ross Verity of ForceDry was recommended as a specialist in this field.
Ross Verity, ForceDry said: "This is a hugely stressful situation to be in as a contractor. In this instance we implemented the Project Recovery package, arriving on site fast in order to carry out a full audit of RH readings, identify the environmental limitations and establishing the current state of play."
A tailored plan using ForceDry systems was in place within 24 hours, testing and environmental housekeeping were in action within days. Within 2 weeks of running the specialist programme ForceDry were able to report averages of 38% RH for those worst affected areas.
"Gyvlon produce fantastic products and teamed with a quality drying programme the results speak for themselves. We’re really pleased to have been able to turn this around for our client and help bring things under control"
