Gilgen Automatic Door helps reduce fire risk

Fire Doors help prevent fire and smoke spreading throughout a building, protecting individuals and giving more time for emergency services to respond. However, when it comes to automatic doors located on escape ways, Gilgen Door Systems is one of only a couple of manufacturers to supply an automatic door with certified fire protection.

The GILGEN EI30 automatic sliding door is fire tested to the EN1363 and EN1634 European standard giving reliable fire protection, along with an additional heat-shield function for up to 30minutes. Not only does the system help divide rooms into fire compartments to protect against the spread of fire but smoke distribution is greatly contained; Smoke often being the biggest killer in building fires.

Clear opening widths of up to 3200mm can be achieved with EI30 and the ‘total open system’ means the sliding doors can be swung open manually in the event of an emergency, giving easy escape as well as improved access for emergency services. Integrated closing mechanisms ensure the doors shut again to provide a reliable fire barrier once personnel have exited the room. EI30 incorporates a powerful SLX drive system with safety features that meet the requirements of DIN18650 and EN16005.
