Guttercrest copings at award winning social housing

Guttercrest has supplied aluminium copings for an award-winning development in Barking, London which was one of the first privately funded affordable social housing projects in the UK.

The second phase of the £75 million development named ‘William Street Quarter’ is located on the former Lintons Estate in Barking and is the site of the first council estate to be built there for 25 years.

It comprises 201 affordable homes with a mix of one, two, three and four bedroom accommodation in a range of flats, duplex blocks and traditional terraced housing.

Three mews streets lined with family-sized brick terrace houses are overlooked by a central 10-storey tower block.

Aluminium copings in RAL7032 (pebble grey) colour compliments the roofline of the homes, with the striking apex angles adding to the aesthetic appeal of the properties. Designed by architects Allford, Hall, Monaghan, Morris, the project won five awards including The Sunday Times – British Homes Awards and RIBA London Region Award.
The copings were installed by Gravesend firm Accurate Roofing.

Guttercrest’s wall copings provide a smart and cost-effective finish to parapet and boundary walls. They are made to order for each job to individual wall widths and profiles. They come with a heavy duty bracket system which is quick and easy to install. Low maintenance and environmentally friendly, they also provide part lightening protection.

Available in a wide variety of RAL or BS colours and finishes, including; textured heritage, metallic and stone effect. The copings can be supplied with a flat, level top or a dual pitched top and in curved radii too.
