thyssenkrupp were recently appointed to replace the existing escalators at Akalla metro station, Stockholm.

thyssenkrupp provided three new heavy duty Victoria escalators. The victoria escalators are manufactured in the thyssenkrupp escalator factory in Hamburg, Germany and is known for its heavy duty stainless steel components; it is perfect for high traffic areas such as metro stations with a travel height of up to 75 metres.

The escalators in Akalla station have a total rise of 19 metres with a 5mm track at the load- and unload-side.

The controllers of the escalator have been installed in a stand-alone version with brake resistors on wall and are accessible from the machine room underneath the escalators.
