East Sheen Primary School, London, was experiencing extensive reverberation issues within their multi-use hall and dining area.
As soon as the Hush team entered the school hall it was clear there was a big reverberation problem, as the hall was filled with high ambient noise levels. The school asked Hush Acoustics to solve the problem to allow for speech clarity, better learning and a better environment for teachers and pupils.
Hush carried out an extensive survey to determine how much absorption material was needed to bring the school hall reverberation levels in-line with BB93 design criteria for education buildings. It was also discovered during the survey that there was a problem in the neighbouring dining area. As a result Hush had to accommodate their acoustic calculations accordingly to achieve the level of absorption needed in line with BB93 guidance.
Once the calculations were complete Hush installed the panels within the school hall and dining area. Immediately the difference in noise levels was noticeable. The reverberation issue had gone and a better learning environment was created for teachers and pupils. The head teacher commented, “Just wanted to say a huge thank you from us all for your work around the acoustic issues. Everyone had noticed the positive impact and assembly today was much better. The difference is massive. Thanks again.”
