CPD: Inside & Outside - Exploring Ultra-Compact Surfaces

The general objective of this CPD is to provide a clear introduction and understanding of ultra-compact as a material and the opportunities for its use in Architecture and Design.

During the presentation we will take a look at the general composition of the material – the manufacturing processes involved and also take look at some ideas regarding areas of application.

Following this we will go on to take a look at the material characteristics – both the strengths and the weaknesses – the care and maintenance of the product and most importantly, the fabrication of the product and the design considerations that need to be taken into account when preparing your specifications.
