Kingspan Insulated Panels are proud to announce that they have achieved 21st place overall and, for the second year running, 1st place for Wales in the Sunday Times Green List. The complete list, published in the Sunday Times on May 24th, results from a questionnaire completed by employees of companies across the UK, and with a greater number of entrants than last year, standards have grown even higher as the competition has grown more intense.
The 436 Kingspan employees gave the company a resounding 85% positive green score for being well run, and for doing a lot to protect the environment, whilst 87% said that the company's commitment to the planet is serious. A massive 92% say that Kingspan is getting better at protecting the environment, with 85% believing that it is doing all that it can to minimise its environmental impact.
Louis Eperjesi, managing director for Kingspan Insulated Panels said, We are delighted to have received such recognition from the Sunday Times for the second year running. We take our responsibility to the environment extremely seriously, and clearly our employees are right behind us on that.
All Kingspan employees are briefed on the companys Environmental Management System and Environmental Policy, with instructions and procedures implemented to make sure they are followed. Greener everyday practice is encouraged through guidelines on issues ranging from reducing energy consumption to minimising waste.
An important development last year was the commissioning of the Kingspan Sustainability Report in 2008. This has helped to outline existing achievements and future targets, as well as gaining a Global Reporting Initiative Application Level C. The next report is due to be published shortly.
Kingspan provides a range of sustainable construction solutions for all project types, including Kingspan EnergiPanel, a solar air heating system which can reduce reliance on heating systems by up to 20%.
The company is celebrating the continued recognition of their achievements, having already won the Manufacturer of the Year Award for the third year running at the industrys prestigious Building Awards in April.
