Kingspan Insulation has produced a flyer summarising its Pre-Mitred Tapered Roofing Systems that will enable contractors, specifiers and end-users to access product information at a glance.

Featuring pre-mitred hip and valley boards as standard, Kingspan Insulation Thermataper tapered roofing systems are ideal for both new build and refurbishment projects.

The boards are pre-mitred to individual specifications and arrive ready labelled, complete with a full set of installation instructions on waterproof, tear-proof paper, so are easy to use. By greatly reducing the need for cutting boards on site, installation time and labour cost is significantly reduced as is the amount of waste material produced on site.

The extension of the range last year to include thicker tapered boards brought further time and costs savings by reducing the number of packer boards that a roofing contractor needs to lay.

The entire Kingspan Thermataper range has been designed to ensure low heat loss through the roof, as well as preventing the formation of water ponds (the most common cause of failure of flat roofs) by providing effective roof falls for both new and existing flat roofs. Each solution in the range has been specifically developed for use beneath a particular waterproofing membrane.

An independent study by highly respected Quantity Surveyors, Davis, Langdon & Everest, has singled out tapered insulation as the most cost effective water shedding option for warm deck flat roofing applications, yielding savings of up to 21% over the cost of using alternative methods to create a fall in a flat roof for drainage purposes.
