KONE wins an iF Design Award for KONE Turnstile 100 solution

KONE has won an iF Design Award for its KONE Turnstile 100 solution. The awarded turnstile sets a new standard for visual design and functionality, while improving building security, guidance and convenience. This is the third time that KONE has been recognised in the competition.

The iF Design Awards' jury of experts evaluated nearly 5,000 top-class entries from 55 countries enrolled in the competition for 2015. Judging was based on criteria such as design quality, choice of materials and degree of innovation. The iF Design Awards have highlighted outstanding achievements in design since 1953.

The next generation KONE Turnstile 100 is KONE's response to the increasing need for smarter buildings and cities in the face of rapid urbanisation around the world. The turnstile can be integrated with all KONE People Flow Intelligence solutions to enable smooth people flow from the building's lobby area to a user's final destination. It features a range of intelligent guidance and security options that meet the requirements of modern-day structures such as office and multipurpose buildings, which have high demands with regard to access control and maintaining an unhindered flow of people.

Constructed from durable, high-quality steel and glass, the aesthetically inspiring and timeless KONE Turnstile 100 creates a lasting first impression on visitors. Its style and signalisation are designed to match other award-winning KONE products, as well as the KONE People Flow Intelligence solutions family.

This latest recognition from the iF Product Design Awards is one of several prestigious distinctions KONE has received for product design. The KONE RL20 lift car ceiling light and the KSP 858 touch screen destination control unit both won iF Design Awards in 2014. KONE's products and solutions have also been awarded the prestigious GOOD DESIGN awards in 2008, 2009 and 2013, as well as four red dot product design awards in 2012.
