SCI, the leading independent provider of technical expertise to the steel construction sector, has awarded its quality assurance SCI Assessed mark to four leading construction companies.
Tegral Metal Forming, Euroclad, Corus Panel and Profiles and CA Building products, have each had new cladding profile load tables developed to Eurocode 3 by SCI. All four of the companies were subsequently awarded the SCI Assessed quality mark, and were supported by Corus Colors as part of its commitment to key customers.
SCI launched its own assessment scheme in 2006, to help innovative products and services achieve market acceptance. SCI Assessed is a quality mark awarded to testify that manufacturers' technical data has been independently verified by SCI. The scheme covers the reliability of the range of performance data offered by suppliers such as safe load tables and other similar data used by the product specifiers.
Dr Martin Heywood, Senior Manager, SCI Construction Technology explains: SCI Assessed gives manufacturers a cost effective way to differentiate their product in a highly competitive marketplace; equally it gives those purchasing technical products and services added independent assurance.
SCI Assessed companies are awarded a certificate and license for use of the SCI Assessed logo. Additionally, they are registered on the SCI website www.sci-assessed.com. The scheme covers a whole host of technical structural and non-structural performance data ranging from; section properties and load tables through to software, online information and fire performance of products and systems.
