Tudor House is a grand Georgian style building built in 1930 and was originally the offices for Hatfield Rural District Council. There was an application to convert the building into seven luxury apartments, comprising of four two bedroom apartments and three one bed apartments.
Permission was granted and work began soon after. Although not a listed building, Tudor House has a host of period features which Lioncrest Homes would retain as it was important for the building’s integrity.
Hush Acoustics were appointed by Lioncrest at the design stage of the development to provide acoustic advice and guidance for the apartment soundproofing. Because of the period features and history of the building it meant there were many design issues to consider. Hush’s design consultants worked closely with Lioncrest and developed the most economical and convenient acoustic system available. The detailed and careful installation of the Hush Acoustic System resulted in high levels of sound reduction and gave the occupants of the apartments a very good standard of living. With excellent planning from Lioncrest, Hush Acoustics were able to deliver all acoustic materials and ensure installation was carried out efficiently.
