Nestled in the heart of the Prater, a rejuvenated amusement park to the north of the Vienna city centre, Madame Tussauds has transformed an impressive building just opposite the famous Ferris wheel.
Sophie Moritzer, Marketing for Madame Tussauds, Vienna says, I think the flooring really adds to the overall theme of each space, it wasnt just an afterthought for the interior architects, it was an integral part of their designs. The dramatic flooring in the A-list party room really adds to the overall theme but my favourite flooring has to be the wood design in the historical room.
Each themed room needed distinctive decoration with flooring that could compliment interior styles spanning centuries and withstand the heavy footfall expected of a major tourist attraction. Amtico was the perfect choice for the flooring. With the wide range of designs from faithfully represented woods and stones to innovative abstract designs, Amtico flooring offered us the flexibility we needed, explains Peter Sinnemann, Architect and Project Manager at Studio AM.
For this project Amticos custom cutting and design service really came into its own, allowing us to be creative with the spaces. The variety in the colour pallet meant that we could create tennis courts, dance floors, royal palaces, underground bunkers, opulent lounges and much more, Peter Sinnemann continues.
