Marmax and South Causey Inn

Marmax and South Causey Inn

Marmax have been supplying a wide range of high-quality recycled plastic products to the South Causey Inn for over 10 years. South Causey Inn is a long-term client of Marmax, in the heart of Beamish Valley, County Durham.

Marmax’s local lively neighbours have a wide range of different accommodation and dining options and have lately undergone a complete renovation. Their recently opened accommodation complex includes private parking, luxury hot tubs, plush interiors, waterfall showers and huge private outdoor areas.

Private dining pods offer a unique and magical way to wine and dine. A 1960s Bedford TK Fire Engine has been converted into a one-of-a-kind hotspot bar where cocktails, home-distilled gins and snack menus are served. At the South Causey Inn, they go to enormous lengths to provide high quality food using locally sourced ingredients, working closely with local farmers and suppliers to ensure the best quality ingredients that are brought in daily.

It makes sense when they’re sourcing local for their food, that they didn’t go too far for their outdoor furniture, with Marmax’s products all being manufactured just up the road. Sustainability is at the core of the South Causey Inn’s ethos and is particularly important to their customers.

With Marmax products all being made from 100% recycled HDPE plastic, they were the perfect partner to provide sustainable and durable furniture for the inn and its accommodation.

Over the years Marmax have supplied South Causey Inn with numerous outdoor products including: Bistro Planters, Circular tables, Traditional seating, Sloper chairs, Heavy duty picnic benches and Harrogate table and chairs.

The products come with a 25-year manufacturer’s guarantee. Marmax recycled plastic products do not corrode, rot or splinter making them a sustainable option, especially in the damp atmosphere of the hot tubs. Some of the rooms with hot tubs are hired for large groups, so not only is it important to be able to resist moisture, but also to sanitise and wipe down.

In addition, it’s important that furniture is sturdy enough to be able to cope with large groups and consistent use. Marmax Products are easy to clean to help stop the spread of germs. Travel time from Marmax was an important consideration as logistics can have as much of an impact on the environment as the products chosen.

The South Causey Inn arrange their own deliveries and collections which has reduced their transport costs while reflecting their core values of sustainability and environmental awareness.

Marmax products come in assorted colours, the now black benches match the black windows and doors. South Causey Inn display the Marmax tags on their products and this has resulted in direct approaches to Marmax from their customers.

Historically, the teams have been regular customers for each other and go further than just local neighbours, collaborative working allows better communication, and a better understanding of each other’s challenges. Marmax plan to work with the South Causey Inn to develop new products for the hotel and restaurant market.
