MEDITE TRICOYA EXTREME paves way for safety

Medite Smartply's high performance TRICOYA EXTREME has been used to create colourful directional figures to help point out a safe route to school for children in Billund, Denmark. The figures played a role in a wider initiative aiming to help get local children more active.

The fact that the designs are exposed to the elements also posed a challenge to the design team. They had to use a material that was diverse enough to express the children’s creativity while withstanding the varying weather conditions. MEDITE SMARTPLY’s Danish MEDITE TRICOYA EXTREME distributor, DLH, were on hand to offer a suitable, durable solution.

Billund Traffic Adviser Jan Luxenburger said:"The ideas from the children have been very impressive. hey have been really engaged throughout the project and we've got some ideas that certainly can be used. One of the highlights was the ‘pointing children’ who now line the cycle paths pointing out a safe route to school.”

Johnny Pilgaard, Sales Consultant at DLH, added:"MEDITE TRICOYA EXTREME was absolutely ideal for this type of project. Not only was it easy to machine and decorate to match the imaginations of the children’s designs, but it’s also guaranteed for 50 years of external use – something that no other engineered wood panel can offer.”
