Elite Systems were appointed to provide The National Grid with a custom modular design to replace their regional office in Leicester.

The previous modular office was over 20 years old and the site was in desperate need of renovation.

Elite Systems manufactured and installed a modular building that provided 550 sq metres of office space with room for hot-desking, meeting rooms, conference facilities, shower rooms and break-out spaces.

Elite’s design team identified that the best solution was to fit the new building on the existing foundations, keeping disturbance of the surrounding ground to a minimum.

This approach significantly reduced the cost of mitigating the contamination, which was achieved by providing a liquid gas membrane across the site before amending the foundations.

Elite Systems removed the existing buildings while manufacture of the new modular building took place, then replaced it with the fully-fitted, low energy office space finished with grey Plastisol steel external cladding. In total, installation took just two weeks.
