D+H UK supplied, installed and commissioned a new natural smoke ventilation system at Buxton Extra care.

Thomas Fields is a Housing & Care 21 project developed in partnership with High Peak Borough Council, Derbyshire County Council and Homes England.

The development facilitates people over the age of 55, containing 53 two bedroom apartments with a range of on-site amenities. It offers independent living with access to on-site care.

D+H UK’s system has been configured to be a “stand alone” Manual Opening Vent (MOV) system and will work independently from the fire alarm system. In the event of activation the system will send a signal to the fire alarm panel.

The D+H drives require 2 cores to operate but by adding a third core paired with an end of line resistor, D+H UK enabled the cable to be monitored for any breaks or damage.
