The Neos design emerged from the enhanced development of a standard seat to provide a solution for the new Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury, UK. The outcome is a minimalistic, stylish, modular seat that effortlessly complements the classic sweeping curves of the traditional horseshoe style auditorium.
Fabric-upholstered, the armchair is built around a robust steel and MDF framework. Side panels feature padded MDF armrests and are fabricated from laser-cut steel sheeting, covered in a scratch-resistant epoxy coating. Delivering the ultimate in comfort, the seat is sprung with woven elasticized webbing and cushioned with fireproof polyurethane foam.
Neos is characterised by a curved beech veneer back panel, available in a range of finishes. A silent-operation counterweight system ensures quiet, smooth auto-retraction to the seats unoccupied position every time. The chair is fixed to the floor via a black epoxy powder painted steel plinth.
The seat coverings can be selected from a range of attractive, durable fabrics or sustainably sourced leathers. Designers, architects and specifiers can stipulate their own materials subject to the usual approvals.
