Made from recycled aluminium and zinc-coated steel, the A-PED™ range offers a non-combustible external flooring solution for relevant high-rise buildings above 18-metres, and any other project requiring maximum fire safety.

Adjustable between 42-282mm and with an integrated 5% millimetre-precise slope corrector, design professionals are hailing A-PED pedestal as one of the most advanced A-rated solutions on the market.

Alongside its adjustment and slope correction functionality, spacer tabs are built into the head of the pedestal to maintain alignment and facilitate drainage in paving applications; the tabs can be removed as required to suit different paver layouts or to accommodate joists for aluminium or other fire-rated deckboards.

Combined, these features ensure compatibility with both paving, decking, and grating, and the large load spreader plate base works effectively with insulation materials and waterproof membranes.

A-Rated Flooring Solution

Despite regulation changes dictating that A-rated products are required for buildings over 18-metres, many projects are specifically requesting them to ensure best practice regardless of project size.

Although it is still uncertain as to whether the 18-metre rule will change, the request for more A-rated products demonstrates the changing attitudes amongst those within the industry and the need to deliver safer solutions on all projects and schemes.

It’s clear that there is a demand for fire-rated compliance within the industry and the release of A-PED™ has come at a time when specifiers and fire safety offices alike are seeking reassurance.
