A new build hotel in the bustling Shoreditch area of London has had the basement BS8102 treatment.
Cavity drain membranes and waterproof concrete have been used as part of a BS8102 designed scheme.
Wykamol were asked to attend the site to help design a scheme to waterproof this new build space which was going to form part of the new hotel for a restaurant and office area.
Having looked at the scheme Wykamol were able to send over a design scheme as well as 3D specialist drawings to the Wykamol registered installer Advance Property Preservation.
Managing director Simon Wooton asked Wykamol to help, so their BBA approved products would be passed by the engineers and architects.
Working at design stage, Wykamol are able to help, looking at plans and helping to create a robust basement waterproofing scheme.
When dealing with water from the ground, care must be taken to ensure dual waterproofing schemes can work together to give the clients a dry space, which can be used without any difficulty or damage to the system.
In this instance Wkyamol’s Type C Cavity Drain Membranes including their high visibility yellow membranes were used.
These membranes not only act as a waterproofing product but are also passed as a ground gas membrane against Radon.
