New economical micro-piles for foundation stabilisation

New from structural repair specialist, Helifix, is the versatile and technically well proven Dixie micro-pile. Helifix has obtained exclusive UK rights to this high performance system which is backed by International Code Council (ICC) certification and conforms to AC358, the International Standard for helical foundation underpinning systems.

Helifix Dixie micro-piles provide a fully engineered and cost-effective solution to the problem of foundation settlement without the major disruption and cost of methods that require extensive excavations. Helifix Dixie piles are turned into the ground down to the load bearing strata, the bracket is then fitted and the pile is jacked up beneath the foundations to support the building’s weight and prevent further settlement. Excavations are minimal, installation normally only requires lightweight hand-held equipment, noise levels are low and the occupants experience very little disruption.

Where Dixie micro-piles are combined with the Helibeam masonry stabilisation system, Helifix provides a complete structural repair solution that maximises pile spacing to economically restore full structural integrity. Furthermore, all repairs, both above and below ground, are fully concealed to ensure a sympathetic, non-disruptive and reliable solution.

What makes the Helifix Dixie micro-pile the ideal choice is its unique design which combines a circular pipe pile with square connections. The pipe pile gives higher torsional strength that eliminates shaft twist or buckling. The square socket simplifies engagement and accelerates installation speed by eliminating the need to align bolt holes, while also maximising the torsional capacity of the pile to allow for higher ultimate loads up to 240kN. In addition, each installed pile can be load tested.

Helifix engineers assess each situation and design repairs based on the damage, the weight of the individual property and the local ground conditions. Fully trained contractors supply and install the systems.
