Following Newton’s ‘Business of the Year 2019’ award win at the Kent Chamber Business Awards last week, Newton have been shortlisted for both the ‘Green/Sustainability Award’ and ‘Innovation of the Year’ by the National Building Awards 2019.
These nominations are in recognition of their Membrane Recycling Service and sustainability initiatives. The ceremony is taking place on Wednesday 22nd May at Wembley Stadium.
Newton are also nominated in the ‘Best Innovation’ category at the Construction News Awards on 11th July for their Newton Membrane Recycling Service which is the first and only closed-loop recycling scheme in the UK waterproofing industry.
To be considered for both National Building Awards, Newton needed to provide evidence of how their Membrane Recycling Service is new, different and making a positive difference. As well as how the service, along with their other sustainability initiatives, work to reduce the impact on the environment.
Newton Waterproofing offers a closed-loop recycling scheme, the Newton Membrane Recycling Service. The service collects and shreds waste membrane and then sends it to be turned into new construction projects.
Newton also offer high performance membranes made from recycled HDPE; Newton 508 eco Floor and Newton 520 eco.
These products are the first two cavity drain membranes in the UK to be manufactured from 100% recycled material with full BBA certification.
