Client: Oxney Grange
Type of works: supplied 125mm half round aluminium gutter and 76mm circular rainwater downpipes from the Alutec Traditional range.
Marley Plumbing & Drainage has provided a complete rainwater solution for the newly renovated Oxney Grange in Peterborough.
The 125mm half round aluminium gutter and 76mm circular rainwater downpipes from the Alutec Traditional range were specifically installed to ensure the sympathetic restoration of the Grade II listed building.
The installation forms part of the conversion of the Grange, which had fallen into disrepair, into 14 residential properties. Parts of the building are some of the oldest in the Peterborough area, dating back to the mid 12th century and Alutec aluminium systems are ideal for buildings with such traditionally sensitive locations. The gutter and downpipes were supplied throughout the main building and surrounding barns in Heritage Black, a special textured black polyester powder coating designed to emulate cast iron in appearance, to blend in with the traditional brickwork.
Mark McGilley, of contractors Manor Construction (Herts) Ltd, was delighted with the rainwater system. Due to the heritage nature of this project, attention to detail was especially important, and the Alutec Traditional range of fittings from Marley helped ensure the conversion was sympathetic to the Listed Building and maintained the sense of history and character of the building whilst providing a low maintenance solution.
Manufactured from high-grade aluminium, Alutec offers a resilient rainwater solution. Alutec rainwater systems are available in a wide range of colours and due to the long lasting finish, are suitable for both modern and traditional domestic, commercial and industrial applications. Aluminium is more durable than zinc and lighter than cast iron. It is also infinitely recyclable, ensuring an environmentally friendly solution and has the added benefit of not needing to be repainted.
