Polysafe safety flooring was recently donated by UK manufacturer Polyflor to the new Salford Institute for Dementia Hub at the University of Salford. Polyflor donated approximately 90m² of Polysafe Wood fx PUR safety flooring in the Oiled Oak shade which was installed by Flooring Supply Centre, Liverpool.
Polyflor has a number of flooring ranges suitable for use within dementia-friendly environments and has forged a close relationship with the Salford Institute for Dementia to better understand the needs of care homes and other healthcare facilities. Frequently selected for care home and healthcare projects, the Polysafe Wood fx safety flooring collection is designed to cope with the demands of commercial environments where there are high levels of foot traffic.
Polysafe Wood fx PUR offers sustainable wet slip resistance, achieving 36+ on the Pendulum Wet Test with full conformance to HSE Guidelines and the particle based safety flooring standard EN 13845. Made in the UK, this range also passes the 50,000 cycles abrasion test demonstrating the sustainability of slip resistant particles in the product.
Professor Anthea Innes, Director of the Salford Institute for Dementia said:"The finished hub looks fantastic and we want to say a big thank you to Polyflor for kindly donating this flooring to our project. This slip resistant wood effect design is ideal for use in dementia-friendly environments. We hope to continue our relationship with Polyflor in future and raise awareness in the industry about how to make spaces more dementia-friendly through flooring and interior design choices.”
