Children at Rack House Primary School in Wythenshawe, Manchester, can now enjoy a wide variety of indoor sports following the installation of maple-style Polyflor Sport 67, complete with game line markings, in the school sports hall.

In the lead up to London 2012, this has come at a crucial time when the government is looking to improve sport development and increase the number of hours schoolchildren partake in physical activity each week.

“We’re really pleased with the end result – it’s just what the children need,” says school Site Manager Brian Johnson. “The flooring provides the underfoot resilience and long life we require and with the line markings the hall is suitable for a wide range of sporting activities including football, badminton, netball and basketball.”

Now widely specified for college, school and local authority sports halls, gymnasia and leisure centres, Polyflor Sport 67, installed at the school by locally based flooring contractor Wilkinson Bros, and heavier gauge Polyflor Sport 80, both conform to EN 14904, the European standard for sports flooring, and meet all Sport England requirements.

Polyflor Sport 67 is a 6.7mm gauge flooring available in Blue, Green and a maple wood-effect. Polyflor Sport 80 in 8mm gauge is available in Green and maple. Both also feature a polymer surface treatment for enhanced protection and easier on-going maintenance.
