Two record STA 20 sliding doors were chosen for Aston Martin’s new showroom, built at Cobalt Park Way in Wallsend in Newcastle.

The showroom, housing and displaying prestigious cars, was required to have an entrance that was robust, safe, quiet in operation and stylish in appearance.

The entrance to the showroom is almost six metres wide and the two record STA 20 sliding doors fitted are 3000 mm wide clear toughened glass. Despite their size and weight this solid installation provides security and quiet, elegant operation.

The effective and efficient operation of the door is guaranteed by the self-controlling microprocessor which continually monitors inputs, including from the three safety sensors, and adjusts performance accordingly. A battery provides back-up in case of power failure or fire alarm activation. In the event of a power failure the doors can be programmed to remain secure or to open to allow emergency access.
