RENOLIT ALKORGREEN sedum roof system provides a number of environmental advantages. It helps to offset the urban heat island effect, reduces rainfall discharge to drainage systems and improves air quality and acoustics. The system also offers colour and is visually appealing, being beneficial to insects and wildlife.
It is a fully bonded system providing robust detail. The single ply waterproofing layer is designed for application, resistant to roots and microbial attack, it maintains dimensional stability in the buried environment.
A 50mm substrate layer assists healthy root growth and provides anchorage for the UK grown sedum mat. Nine varieties of sedum are specifically chosen for their resilience to the British climate, resisting stress from cold and drought.
The system is suitable for new build and refurbished roofs on a range of pitches.
To achieve aesthetics, composition and longevity, it begins with a self-adhesive foil faced vapour control layer followed by dedicated single ply waterproofing (insulation is to the latest standards and thermal values conforming to and exceeding building regulations).
Protection and drainage layers are added, providing a robust 50mm thick substrate and finally our UK grown high quality sedum turf. The weight is approximately 100kg/m2 when saturated.
