Frequent extreme rainfall, which can cause flooding, hailstorms and strong winds, has increased globally over the past 50 years. This has been revealed by a new study carried out by scholars from the University of Saskatchewan (Canada) and the University of Bologna (Italy) and published in the Water Resources Research journal.
