Restoration – Heritage (Stone and Brick Clad Buildings)
C-Probe Systems
+point® anode ICCP System
+point® is bed joint repointing anode mortar that improves the whole life performance of transitional steelframe heritage buildings.
The implementation of +point® is completely sustainable and ESG compliant, as the anode mortar comes from C-Probe's low carbon cement innovation LoCem®.
LoCem® is an alkali activated cementitious material (AACM) geopolymer that is made from recycled waste by-products and produced with no heat, helping it yield 80% less CO2e (which is a reduction by a factor of 6.4!).
+point® anode operates as an impressed current cathodic protection (ICCP) anode. They are installed using a conventional repointing gun and finishing tools and operate behind the heritage mortar finish to pass corrosion protection current to the structural steelframe, turning the steel into a cathode meaning it can't ever corrode.
The control zones also provide remote access to performance data from embedded sensors and probes and allows the client to remotely control the current and voltage provided to each zone within the property using AchillesICP.
A continuous record of performance is provided with C-Probe’s online service live tracking facility (AiMS), so owners have comfort that the building in its portfolio will have enhanced resilience and is protected for the long-term.
This is particularly effective method of protecting transitional era (1890-1950) buildings and historic commercial property which are commonly affected by structural deterioration, otherwise known as Regent Street Disease.
