At a time when security concerns are of paramount importance, Schueco Enhanced window and facade systems can deliver a solution that is both practical and cost-effective. Similar in appearance and insulation values to standard Schueco profiles, they enable an architect to achieve a high level of security without the need to compromise the integrity of an original design.
Tested to offer explosion protection to EN 13123-2, EN 12324-2 and MOD Guide 2 standards, Schuecos range of Enhanced systems also includes bullet-resistant inward-opening windows, inward- and outward-opening doors and facades, all of which meet EN 1522 and EN 1523. This means that they will provide protection from hand-guns up to level FB4; in addition, there are special window versions that can withstand a 7.62mm calibre military rifle (FB 6).
Included in Schueco's security offering are all relevant components which are perfectly matched and comply with European standards. Having been active in this field for 19 years, the company has gained a high level of experience in a large number of markets.
Typical locations for Schueco Enhanced systems include government buildings, embassies and buildings of strategic importance. Some airport terminal buildings in the UK have already been fitted with these systems as a measured response to the increased threat of terrorist activity.
