SGG COOL-LITE® XTREME: solar control glass with extremely high selectivity
SGG COOL-LITE XTREME 60/28 and 60/28 II are the latest innovations in high performance solar control coatings.
They are the UKs first triple-silver solar control coatings, which have the highest selectivity (the ratio of visible light to solar heat gain) in the SGG COOL-LITE range. The coatings, applied to SGG PLANILUX clear float glass by cathodic sputtering under vacuum conditions, are always placed on face 2 of a double-glazed unit.
GLASSOLUTIONS supplies SGG COOL-LITE XTREME 60/28 II in toughened sealed unit form, with stock and single toughened product available on request. The SGG COOL-LITE XTREME 60/28 product is for annealed use.
SGG COOL-LITE XTREME 60/28 sets a new standard in high selectivity solar control, while retaining the very neutral aesthetics associated with the SGG COOL-LITE range with:
A high light transmission to create brighter interiors and year round natural lighting.
A low solar factor to reduce the burden on costly air-conditioning.
An excellent U-value of 1.0W/m2K making it the ideal product for energy savings and improved thermal insulation.
A high degree of neutrality both in transmission and exterior reflection SGG COOL-LITE XTREME can be used to create more comfortable interiors by reducing overheating in the summer and heat loss in the winter, while retaining an extremely neutral appearance.
Due to the high performance of the coating, SGG COOL-LITE XTREME 60/28 and 60/28 II are ideally suited to façade or overhead glazing in applications for the commercial and high end building market requiring annealed and toughened or heat treated glass.
Easy handling and processing
Once the product is made into a sealed unit, the coating is protected within the sealed unit and it is handled in the usual way.
Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) / Environmental Product Declaration (EPD)
GLASSOLUTIONS is the first glass processor to carry out independently verified Life Cycle Assessments for its products, including SGG COOL-LITE XTREME. The resulting Environmental Product Declaration can be downloaded here: http://epd.glassolutions.eu/.
This LCA / EPD information can enable extra credits to be achieved in building rating systems such as BREEAM.
