Smedegaard were selected to provide the pumps, pressurisation and cold water booster set for the rebuild of two sides of the Molineux Stadium.

Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club (Wolves) was founded in 1877 and since 1889 has played at the Molineux Stadium. Molineux is a championship football stadium situated in Whitmore Reans, Wolverhampton.

Molineux has a long and illustrious history as the first ‘new build’ stadium in Football league history, one of the first grounds in the country to install floodlights as well hosting some of the first European club games in the 1950s.

Plans were announced in 2010 to rebuild two sides of the stadium by the 2014-15 season to increase capacity to around 36,000. The first phase of this process commenced in 2011 by the demolition of the Stan Cullis Stand and in its place was built a new two tier stand, complete with mega-store, museum,cafe, hospitality facilities and video screen ready for the 2012-13 season.

ADI Mechanical Services, Castle Bromwich, Birmingham were appointed as the mechanical services contractor for the project.

The pumps selected were OmegaFlexx, glanded pumps fitted with integral inverters. These pumps are part of Smedegaards ECOFlexx range, energy efficient products that can see savings of up to 60% on energy consumption and fully comply with all steps of the current ErP directives.

The Cold Water Booster set was again from the energy efficient ECOFlexx range being a ExeFlexx 32-30 model.
