Solar-control film (entry 2)
Established in 1977, Westgate Solar Control designs, manufactures, supplies and installs a wide range of specialist films for glass, providing real solutions to tackle glazing related problems such as solar heat gain, insulation, glare, fading, UV radiation, privacy, safety and security.
In addition to this, films can be used for decoration and aesthetic enhancement purposes.
Cheaper than pre-treated glass, especially for existing windows, window films can combine special characteristics and offer advantages such as short lead times and ease of replacement in the event of a breakage, refurbishment or change of requirements.
Solar-control films: used to reject heat, reduce glare and filter out up to 96% UV rays. They can be used to aesthetically enhance a building.
Privacy films: used to control the suns glare. Matt finish privacy film breaks up and diffuses the light evenly to take the sting out of the glare. Privacy film can be used to hide window clutter and create a uniform appearance to a building, by utilising either a one- or two-way vision barrier. Bespoke cut-outs of film can allow controlled vision to concentrate attention on particular features.
Graphic films: Westgate can design and manufacture bespoke full-colour window graphics and signage, for example, company logos to reinforce a corporate identity programme. For further information, see entry on Signs, film.
Manifestation graphics: used to make large areas of glass apparent for compliance with Health & Safety regulations. These are primarily available as dots or squares, however, bespoke symbols or lines can be used.
