Stunning Lumen Heritage rooflight for Victorian terrace

The stunning new Lumen Heritage rooflight was the perfect choice for this Victorian terrace in Romsey, Hampshire.

The clients were planning a ground floor extension, which would almost double their living space. A significant focus would be on the external aesthetics of the build as this would not only be visible to them, but also the neighbouring properties.

One of their main challenges was how to maximize the space and light entering the home. The brief was to transform the old dimly lit period property in to a new bright modern living space, while retaining its period charm.

Two Lumen Heritage rooflights, to fit within the pitched roof were specified, and finished with beautiful natural slate.

The additional footprint has succeeded in transforming the old Victorian period property into a modern and vibrant living space, which is now flooded with natural daylight, thanks in no small part to the rooflights. The Lumen Heritage rooflight is different from other modern-day rooflights and has been specially designed and crafted to ensure it remains unobtrusive and sympathetic to the external architecture of the building.

This premium Conservation style rooflight boasts a slender steel external frame, and with its incredibly low profile, is ideal for installation in any project but especially period properties, listed buildings, barn conversions, or areas where flushing fitting glazing is required. The Lumen Heritage has been engineered to help eliminate condensation issues so often associated with steel framed products. Innovative new design features include twin timber linings, which are hand crafted from American Ash. It also features a single panel of high performing Pilkington Activ self clean glass, with a warm edge spacer.

The combination of high quality components and quality craftsmanship provides the Lumen Heritage with industry-leading performance for a steel rooflight, with a U-value of just 1.6.
