Superflex® for ‘Project Horizon’ Surrey County Council scheme

Superflex® for ‘Project Horizon’ Surrey County Council scheme

Aggregate Industries Asphalt have installed their Superflex® for ‘Project Horizon’, a five year highway repair and management project for Surrey County Council.

The product has a 10 year warranty and removes the requirement for base course as part of the construction process, resulting in savings on maintenance cost.

It offers an optimal surface for smooth driving and has a longer life than regular SMA.

Aggregate used their fleet of non-tipping trucks on rural schemes where there may be overhead cables or overhanging trees.

They have a higher carrying capacity (up to 28t, compared to 20t), resulting in fewer vehicular movements leading to less noise and pollution.

Where tar is present in the lower layers of the existing pavement the depth of planing is adjusted to minimise the quantity of tar contaminated planings.
