System 2000 products chosen for Birmingham Wholesale Markets

System 2000 Group Limited were chosen to service 176 recently installed new roller shutters at the new Birmingham Wholesale Markets prior to tenants moving from their existing premises.

Many of the external roller shutters with personnel wicket gates were not fit for purpose and were already starting to fail due to poor design. The company also carried out modifications to an existing roller shutter install which included the installation of a wicket gate they themselves designed and manufactured.

A further roller shutter was modified as a prototype, entailing reduction in the width to allow a new steel to be installed along with a steel fire escape door.

System 2000 Group were also asked to supply and install bollards, a heavy-duty aluminium manual raise arm barrier, protection floor plates, Evo 80 Road Traffic Barriers, Speed Bumps, surface mounted gate closers and Brush Strips.

Testimonial from the client: Birmingham City Council’s Project Coordinator:

I just wanted to drop you a quick note on behalf of Birmingham City Council, to sincerely thank all at System 2000 for all their hard work and commitment at the new Wholesale Market, Birmingham.

  • This Project has not been straightforward from the outset and prior to BCC even seeking to appoint a Contractor for the modification of all 78 units doors onsite. System 2000 showed great professionalism and support to the Council in what was becoming an increasingly complicated issue on site.
  • Thereafter, the appointment for this contract has been hassle free from a Client perspective, and your teams onsite have managed to not only 100% satisfy but impress each and every one of the tenants on site – as there are in excess of 45 tenants. This is a serious achievement and not easily won! Furthermore, the quality of the modified doors is excellent, and a major improvement to the longevity and aesthetic of the site.
  • So, a big thank you once again to John, Jonathan, Bob, Jenny and all your team’s onsite, who have been working here relentlessly – it has been a pleasure working with you all.
