AluK’s Luminia F82 aluminium bi-fold door sets a new benchmark for quality and design in a market which over recent years has become increasingly populated with products from lesser known, less experienced manufacturers.

The F82 has become well-known in the sector for its minimal aesthetics, high performance, security and thermal efficiency. A stand-out feature is the slimmer sightlines at just 97mm all the way round the frame, cill and jamb and just 122mm at the interlock - this creates a bigger expanse of glazing to let more light in. There’s also a minimalist square bead and distinctive pop-up T-handle on the opening traffic door to add to the contemporary feel.

Both open-in and open-out configurations can be specified and in sizes up to 2.6m high, with up to seven panels spanning as much as 8m wide. AluK’s heavy-duty 150kg capacity stainless steel rollers ensure that, even at that scale, the F82 opens and closes smoothly and effortlessly time after time, and it offers best in class weather performance up to Class 4 for air permeability and Class E900 for water tightness.

Two new design features further enhance the range: the floating corner option which allows seamless outside-in living, and a new 110mm midrail to accompany the existing 55mm option which allows the creation of single and double doors for a uniform aesthetic.

The AluK F82 bi-fold has achieved PAS24 and ADQ security accreditation, and it boasts impressive U-Value performance to satisfy even the most demanding specification (1.3 W/m2K double glazed and 0.9 W/m2K triple glazed), making it an energy-efficient choice.
