Following independent tests by the Infection Control Department of a leading NHS Trust, TouchClean® has been approved for use and is being supplied to 68 ward refurbishments in the region by leading architectural ironmongery firm Lloyd Worrall.
Lloyd Worrall produced the ironmongery specification for the Trust and introduced TouchClean® as an infection control measure for the ironmongery.
TouchClean® is an anti-bacterial coating for door handles and other touch surfaces and is the latest in prevention and control of infection in hospitals, schools and public buildings.
Once applied to door and window furniture, the coating starts to work immediately it is exposed to a source of UV light. It continues to work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, as long as there is a light to power it with a life span of 10 years.
The coating is hard wearing and virtually undetectable and has been tested to EN13697:2001 a stringent testing method for chemical disinfectants and antiseptics.
More information can be found in Lloyd Worralls Access to TouchClean® brochure.
TouchClean is also available from Yannedis, MB Architectural and MB Doorplan.
