Vaillant offers a great new model in their portfolio of air-to-water heat pumps with the introduction of the aroTHERM plus. This award-winning heat pump is the first in their range to use natural refrigerant R290. This refrigerant, commonly used in many household appliances, has a very low Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 3, and offers many advantages over refrigerants traditionally used in heat pumps.
The new aroTHERM plus heat pump has technical features for improved efficiency, as well as higher flow temperatures, so it's perfect for new and existing heating systems (including hybrid). It's also impressively quiet in operation; great for densely built-up terraced housing estates.

aroTHERM plus uses monobloc technology with a hermetically sealed refrigerant circuit using natural refrigerant R290 to deliver the one of the lowest GWP of 3

Suitable for installations less than 150m away from the sea with salt resistant construction C5 class
• High hot water comfort
aroTHERM plus can provide up to 25% more usable hot water with a 75°C flow temperature, setting the flow to this maximum temperature for hot water means that an electric immersion heater for legionella protection isn't necessary
Additional accessories
The aroTHERM plus is adaptable for many different types of properties with a number of indoor units available to choose from:
uniTOWER
The uniTOWER, containing an integrated 190litre hot water cylinder and hydraulic components, is pre-wired for fast and easy installation. With no refrigerant certification required, the connection of both the aroTHERM plus and uniTOWER modules can be completed in a single day with minimal manpower, causing little disruption for the end user.
Hydraulic module
The hydraulic module contains an expansion vessel, back up heater, diverter valve and heat pump interface. When paired with the aroTHERM plus, it provides flexibility to integrate with solar thermal or an existing hot water cylinder while ensuring higher hot water demands are met.
Heat pump interface
The heat pump interface is designed to be the simplest system adaptation with the aroTHERM plus. This can be used as part of a hybrid system or as a custom system installation which can be connected to a variety of additional components. By using the heat pump interface, it allows more Freedom to place the heating system components to suit property lay out.
