VEKA UK Group presents cheque for £5000 to Child Action North West

Industry-leading PVCu profile manufacturer VEKA UK Group has donated £5000 to support children across the North West. The company presented the cheque to Child Action North West (CANW) to contribute to the valuable work the charity carries out with young people throughout Lancashire and beyond.

VEKA UK Group’s Head of HR Gabriela Hammond explains: “We are very proud to support CANW, a charity that passionately believes every child and young person has the right to achieve their full potential. It provides solutions for a wide range of complex problems, working with over 6000 children, young people and families in the North West every year.

“The £5000 was raised in a number of ways throughout the year and we hope that this donation will help in the ongoing work tackling drug and alcohol abuse, self-esteem problems, youth crime, family issues and more. These valuable services deserve a huge amount of support and VEKA UK Group is pleased to contribute.

“VEKA UK Group is well known for its fundraising efforts and has an ongoing commitment to supporting numerous registered charities, usually in and around our local area. We are proud to have raised or donated more than £86,000 over the last two years. From drumming up £28,000 for homelessness by sleeping out at Turf Moor, and helping open the Burnley Community Kitchen – to spending 750 volunteer hours transforming a dilapidated bus into an inspirational reading space for a local primary school; we love to contribute to causes in the local community.”

Sue Cotton, CEO of CANW said: “Every day brings new challenges to the lives of vulnerable children and young people across the North West. Thank you very much to VEKA UK Group and your employees for your extremely generous donation. Your efforts will allow us to help to strengthen and support children and young people to lead healthy and meaningful lives. Every year we work with around 7000 vulnerable children and families across the region providing a wide range of services including counselling and school and family support, help with education and employment, early help for young people in trouble who are becoming involved in offending and finding foster families for those children who cannot live at home. We know that children can achieve amazing things given the right support, thank you for helping us do that.”
