When a very large podium deck on the Wirral connected to a large apartment complex started leaking into the garages below action was needed.

Basement Waterproofing Solutions were called in to look at this problem and asked the Wykamol group to recommend a strategy to alleviate these problems.

Kevin Topping, Wykamol technical manager for the North West, attended site and recommended a repair using Wykamol’s Hydradek PU paint system coupled with their expansion bandage Proflex.

The tenants agreed the price and agreed the repair solution and works started to remove the old deck and replace with a new poured concrete screed.

After this had dried the Proflex bandage system was used at the wall floor junctions to give strength and flexibility at this crucial junction.

Once cured, Wykamol Hydradek was installed with a 2-coat system as well as a topcoat to protect against the UV issues from the sun.

The whole project took 2 weeks to complete and as can be seen in the images a fantastic job was done by Basement Waterproofing. Working together on projects like these enable Wykamol to see issues first-hand and allows them to see the potential issues before the project starts.

Wykamol are happy to attend sites across the UK to look at issues relating to problems like this and can issue long term warranties on these products if installed by one of their registered installers.

The product carries BBA accreditation, so the long-term validity of the product is secured and because the product also has a reinforced matting between coats a long-term warranty has been issued.
