Aliva UK’s aluminium rainscreen cladding in a variety of silver tones has created a stunning, sustainable façade for Uxbridge College in London.
HNW Architects asked Aliva to deliver a subtle, high end finish for London’s ‘number one’ college and help create a brand identity across two different sites as part of a major refurbishment. The façade also had to be sustainable and able to adapt to London’s ever-changing weather conditions.
Aliva‘s expert design team assisted from the start, providing advice and product samples to ensure that every detail of the façade was right. They provided 340sqm of powder coated panels of Alucovering aluminium cladding in four different textures.
The polished, brushed, etched and natural aluminium cladding textures create a living facade that changes its appearance as the sunlight hits the building throughout the day. The panels were cut to size and then anodised so that the finish on the corners matched the rest of the panel. The result is a finish fit for Uxbridge College’s growing reputation: rated top in London by the Skills Funding Agency for further education.
Peter Foulk of HNW Architects said: “The refurbishment has provided a much-needed facelift and interior remodelling for the college. Aliva’s aluminium cladding is now an important part of the Uxbridge College brand. The overall impression is of a campus that has renewed confidence. The facade gives a crisp, high-end appearance on a relatively cost-effective budget.”
